Advertising that works

Art Submission

Our in-house Art Department can create a unique ad to promote your business at no additional cost for exclussive use in our publications. However if you choose to submit your own artwork, please follow these guidelines to help us process your ad and to get the best re-production quality.

  1. Save ads as in .eps format, using Adobe Illustrator. High resolutions Adobe Photoshop files can be used also. Other file formats, including PDFs, will be recreated in Illustrator. Please send native Illustrator or Photoshop files whenever possible. PDFs will be recreated.
  2. All fonts must be converted to outlines. Check your program documentary for the 'how to' with this command. If your application does not allow you to convert to outlines and you are sending a PDF then you must provide us the fonts. If you have to provide fonts, they must be readable by Macquintosh computers.
  3. We cannot open files saved in FreeHand, Publisher, Photopaint, Corel Draw, Powerpoint, etc.
  4. Ads must be inclusive! Art files with missing links or fonts will have to be recreated.
  5. Artwork must not extend beyond the ad size as specified below, even if masked, or it will be recreated. Include white background for knock-out.
  6. Use only high resolution photos, 300 ppi minimum. 72 dpi pictures from the internet are not high enough quality for reproduction. Pictures from digital cameras must have a 4 mega pixel quality or better.
  7. Convert ALL elements to CMYK colour model.
  8. All ads received will be checked for missing fonts & graphics, incorrect colours and unlabeled bitmaps. Any variation from these specs will require that the ad be repaired or recreated in-house.
